It said Tauktae will be a very severe cyclonic storm from May 16-18. The  IMD said, “It  is very likely to intensify further into a severe cyclonic storm during the next six hours and into a very severe cyclonic storm during the subsequent 12 hours. It is very possible  to move north-northwestwards and cross the Gujarat coast between Porbandar and Naliya around 18th May afternoon/evening.”

PRE-PREPAREDNESS

From sources ,Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold an important meeting on Saturday to check the cyclone preparedness . Top officers from across government departments, including the National Disaster Management Authority, will attend the meeting. Mumbai has suspended its vaccination drive on Saturday and Sunday in view of the cyclone warning. The decision was taken to avoid troubles for senior citizens and also possible crowding as the city is expected to get effects  due to the cyclone. After the cyclonic warning the National Disaster Response Force has deployed several teams on ground. At least 24 teams are pre-deployed and 29 teams are on standby for Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra. Kerala continues to witness heavy rain. Heavy rains and winds  have left a trail of destruction in Kerala, especially in its coastal areas. From Thiruvananthapuram in the south to Kasaragod in the north, hundreds of families living close to the sea have had to leave their homes and  go  to the relief camps . The problem of flooding is particularly serious in Chellanam, a coastal village in Ernakulam district. Due to the continuous rain starting Thursday morning and sea-erosion, many homes in the village are already under water.

RISKY STATES ;-Gujarat, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra
There is not any risk of the Cyclone On Odisha as it is located on other side .
